Quite funny ! I notice that we can still read a part of the story on the walls of the two top right flats.. right ?

@Benoit Darrieux: Many thanks for your comment! yes, indeed, in front of the flats was the Kabul River, and this was at one stage the front line in the civil war that wrecked much of Kabul hence the bullet spattered front. I was working in a building the other side of the river which was still partly a war damaged shell and still had the odd UXO and other detritus of war lying around. Its now all nicely restored and functioning!
