@Jenny: This is the Shomali Plain, it is composed of loess, an accumulation of windblown silt. Yes, they are brick kilns. With two chimneys they will be Hoffman kilns - they dig the loess as raw material for the brick making.

@Pavla: Hi Pavla, yes it was latish evening and quite peaceful - very pleasantly warm!

@Mala: Hi Mala, Thanks for your comments! It is difficult not to get at least one reasonable shot in such conditions :-)

@Namaki: Hmmm... sometimes we stopped, sometimes shot from the vehicle - not sure about this one! I would have happily stayed till sunset - but others like to get back before dark cos of the bandits :-)
