I love the addition of the boys face in the corner! Almost looks like he forced himself in the shot, but I'm sure that you meant for him to be there. :)

@Tamara: Yes, he forced his way into the shot! I didn't mean him to be there, I was taking a record shot of the cannon - I was interested because it was made Yorkshire and I was going to uncover its story. I found the face later - I'm glad he is there - it makes a great picture lol

That the boy is there humanises the shot even more. I like to see what is considered a weapon of destruction of the past made completely harmless. We have canons around town from ancient wars, and they are still perched as if to spring to life.

From a composition point-of-view, having something more in the bottom corner lends greater appeal and interest to this piece. His hand touching the canon - a tiny hand - is the only complete part of him in this shot. I like that it isn't his whole face, as it allows you more to think of him as any child rather than this particular child.
