@Jason Kravitz: Hi Jason, Its a cemetery at the foot of the Bala Hissar Fort. The Lake is seasonal, it is only a few feet deep and dries up in the summer. The hand by the gravestone is one of the most powerful symbols deeply rooted into Islamic culture and faith. I believe the hand symbolizes the hand of Hazrat Abbas the flag bearer of Imam's army at Karbala. It also symbolizes the five holy personalities or saints. It is probably the grave of a deceased Shia person.
very interesting, a lot to look at. quite an emotional shot. A good piece of photojournalism.
