Taken a few days ago. At c. 6,000 feet the air in Kabul is thin and soon gets very cold. Temperatures in the -20's C are common. Everyone feels the cold.

Your photos of the people of Afghanistan get to me so much...right to the Soul. You have to publish a book!

Scott: This is wonderful portrait. The lighting is just fabulous on his face. And such a face: weather and care worn; tired yet somehow gentle, or is it resigned? Do people mind if you take their picture? Do you ask them first? Thanks so much for sharing.

@Anita: Hi Anita, thanks for your comments they are much appreciated. I'm usually walking around taking street scenes, people see this and often ask if I will take their picture. Most Afghans love having their picture taken! Sometimes I ask and the answer is usually yes. Boys ALWAYS want their picture taken and are eager to see the image. Girls sometimes say no to photographs while others are as keen as the boys! I do not photograph women unless as part of a wider street scene. I usually try and give prints and this is always appreciated! Bob.
i like the eyes looking straight at your camera.
